Yes, an open discussion often highlights any areas of concern and gives us a full understanding of your requirements and quality expectations.
It depends on the complexity and how busy we are at any given time. We’ve produced simple non complex tools and mouldings in a couple of days, to very complex tools and mouldings in several weeks. It’s always best to contact us to discuss your requirements at the time.
At the point of quoting you will be asked about your material requirements. We can advise on the correct type, grade and colour of material for your components and also discuss options for supply.
Our aluminium tooling is very robust which enables us to mould in most thermoplastic materials, from polypropylene and ABS to high temperature metal replacement engineering polymers like PPS, HTN and PEEK.
No, we always offer our fastest turn around and lead times which will be agreed at the start of your project.
No. Unlike some of our competitors RP produces what you model. We review your model and will highlight any areas that are not suitable for injection moulding in your part design. We’ll bring this to your attention to enable you to build quality into your part before manufacturing begins.
Once tooling has been paid for in full, ownership of tooling passes to the customer.
Yes, we have storage facilities on-site to keep tooling should it be needed to produce additional parts in the future.
This depends on many factors. How many parts do you need your tool to produce? We supply components into many different industries, some customers require 10 parts, some 10,000 and this has to be considered at the time of making the tool. Our tooling can be a cost effective solution to a handful of parts, or we can produce a prototype aluminium tool to be capable of 100’s of thousands of parts.
Yes this is a common occurrence for many OEM’s and we often support production for several months.
This depends on the levels of complexity, but by rule of thumb it's around 30-40% cheaper. Aluminium tooling also has much shorter lead times, which in itself offers reduced time to market for new products and the potential for substantial cost savings.
Yes we can process materials such as TPE / TPV as over-mouldings or straight forward mouldings. We also offer insert moulding.
Yes. RP has its own Quality Engineering Department with CMM capability which can be discussed at the quoting stage.
Yes, we have a tool room and mould shop within our Kingswinford facilities. We encourage our customers to visit our manufacturing facility to discuss their project in further detail and to get an insight of how we work here at RP.
Yes you can. RP already supplies a number of key companies across the EU with production mouldings off supplied tooling.
We can currently support parts sizes of 1400mm x 700mm x 600mm
